Vodafone has launched two Mobile Wi-Fi routers, the R218 (R218z) and R218H. If you find R218 (R218z) written over the device, means it is a ZTE make router; whereas R218H is a Huawei make.

In this post, we will discuss about Vodafone Mobile Wi-Fi R218, which is a ZTE make and can be unlocked easily.

The R218 is modified version of ZTE MF920 router. It measures 105 x 64 x 14mm and weighs 102 gms. It comes in White color only. There is an LED screen available for notification of battery, signal, WiFi, etc. The device operates on Linux platform whereas Qualcomm MDM 9207 is fitted inside the device for better performance.

Vodafone R218 MiFi router features 256MB RAM and 512MB flash memory. Its upload speed is LTE FDD 50Mbps, HSUPA 5.76 Mbps and EDGE/GPRS Class 12; whereas LTE Cat.4 150 Mbps, HSDPA 42.2 Mbps and EDGE/GPRS Class 12 download speed are supported.

This router features 2300mAh Li-pol battery that can operate 10 hours on WiFi and 300 hours standby. LTE DD800/900/1800/2600, UMTS 850/900/1900/2100 and GSM 850/900/1800/1900 operating frequency bands are supported. It supports WiFi 802.11b/g/n 2.4 GHz and can connect up to 5 WiFi-enabled devices at a time.
