PeaZip is an another open source file and archive manager that comes with compression and decompression abilities. It is available in both portable and installable format for 32-bit and 64-bit Windows & Linux. You can use PeaZip as an alternate of 7-zip.
PeaZip can extract most of the archive formats from Windows and Unix. Currently, more than 180 file extensions are supported. The app supports Drag & Drop for extraction and archiving, and once installed, it integrate in Windows context menu. By right-clicking on a file you can compress or decompress.
PeaZip can create password-protected archives with 256-bit AES encryption for 7Z, ZIP, ARC, and PEA file formats.
When you will create a new archive, a keyfile can also be used alongside a password to create a two-step verification. It can also genearte a random password / keyfile. While opening the compressed file, it will require both the password and the keyfile, that increases the security.
