Finally, Motorola has announced the Android 5.1 update for the Motorola Droid Turbo. If all goes according to plan, the update will head out to everyone else later this week. This update brings to your phone Android 5.1 along with other improvements.
As we mention in our last article that Motorola decided to skip the Android 5.0 update for the Droid Turbo and jump straight to Android 5.1. Currently, the smartphone Android 4.4.4 KitKat.
Motorola’s David Schuster, senior director for software product management at Motorola Mobility, through a Google+ post, announced that the update should be pushing out to soak test members and that if all goes according to plan, the update will head out to everyone else later this week.
Separately announced this, the company’s official Twitter account also confirmed that the update is coming soon.
One thing that might be important from the customer’s perspective is that This update brings Android™ 5.1 Lollipop to your phone and other improvements.
The updates are released in waves, which means that it may take some time to reach your device.
Instructions for installation
We recommend installing this update for a successful installation when the battery in your phone is at least 50% charged and you are connected to a Wi-Fi network.
If you have received a notification message for this update:
Select “Yes, I’m in.”
After the software is downloaded, select “Install now.”
After the software is installed, your phone will re-start automatically.
Your phone is now updated to Android™ 5.1 Lollipop.
If you have not received a notification message for this update, follow the steps below to update your phone manually:
Select the Settings icon in the apps menu.
Select “About phone.”
Select “System updates.”
Select “Yes, I’m in.” After the software is downloaded, select “Install now.”
After the software is installed, your phone will re-start automatically.
Your phone is now updated to Android 5.1 Lollipop.
