Finally, Motorola has announced  the Android 5.1 update for the Motorola Droid Turbo.  If all goes according to plan the update will head out to everyone else later this week. This update brings  to your phone on Android 5.1 along with other improvements.

As we mention in our last article that Motorola decided to skip the Android 5.0 update for the Droid Turbo and jump straight to Android 5.1. Currently, the smartphone Android 4.4.4 KitKat.

Motorola’s  David Schuster, senior director for software product management at Motorola Mobility, through a Google+ post announced that the update should be pushing out to soak test members, and that if all goes according to plan the update will head out to everyone else later this week.

The updates released in waves, which means that it may take some time to reach your device.

Insutructions for installation

For a successful installation, we recommend installing this update when the battery in your phone is at least 50% charged and you are connected to a Wi-Fi network.
If you have received a notification message for this update:

Select “Yes, I’m in”.
After the software is downloaded, select “Install now”.
After the software is installed, your phone will re-start automatically.
Your phone is now updated to Android™ 5.1 Lollipop.

If you have not received a notification message for this update, follow the steps below to manually update your phone:

Select the Settings icon in the apps menu.
Select “About phone”.
Select “System updates”.
Select “Yes, I’m in”. After the software is downloaded, select “Install now”.
After the software is installed, your phone will re-start automatically.
Your phone is now updated to Android™ 5.1 Lollipop
