Acer has announced a new smartphone, the Liquid Z500, at the IFA 2014 in Berlin. It is available in Titanium Black, Sandy Silver, and Aquamarine Green color variants. It would be available in EMEA from September 15 with a starting price of 149 Euro (Roughly Rs 11,800).
The Acer Liquid Z500 features a 5-inch HD IPS (1280 × 720 pixels) touchscreen display with 900:1 high contrast. It is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor with 1 GB of RAM, while the smartphone is running on the latest Android 4.4 KitKat OS.
The Z500 houses an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, f/2.0 aperture, 1080p HD video recording, and a VGA front-facing camera. It has DTS Sound technology and an Acer RAPID button on the back.
The smartphone comes with 4GB of internal storage, further expandable with up to 32GB of memory card. At 8.65 mm thick, it includes 3G, HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, and aGPS as connectivity options. A 2000 mAh battery backs it.
