Xiaomi has announced that its flagship smartphone, the Redmi Note, will be available online in India through Flipkart. Today, in Delhi, the firm has confirmed that it will go for sale in India with a price of Rs 8999, starting 2nd December 2014. It is also worth noting that Xiaomi earlier has said that it will be priced at Rs 9999, but now it will be available for fewer than Rs 1000.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note phone comes with a MediaTek MT6592 Octa-Core processor with a Cortex-A7 chipset, which is clocked at 1.7GHz CPU. It is further coupled with ARM Mali-450 GPU and 2 GB of RAM. It also has a big 5.5-inch HD IPS display (1280×720 pixels resolution) and runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OS, optimized with MIUI V5.

The Redmi Note houses a 13 MP rear-facing camera, while there is a 5-megapixel front camera on-board. It is equipped with 8 GB of internal storage, further expandable up to 32 GB via an external memory card. It is a dual SIM (WCDMA+GSM) phone, which packs a 3100 mAh lithium-polymer battery.
