Samsung has announced the Galaxy S5 mini, a mini-variant of the Galaxy 5 flagship smartphone; however, the price has not been revealed. The news says that the Galaxy S5 mini will be available initially in Russia only starting early July.
As the Samsung Galaxy S5 smartphone, the mini-variant will also be available in Charcoal Black, Shimmery White, Electric Blue, and Copper Gold color variants.
The main highlights of the Galaxy S5 mini are heart rate sensor, fingerprint scanner; supports connectivity with the Samsung wearable devices, private mode/ kids mode, Ultra Power Saving Mode, and also dust & water resistance (IP67 certified).
The Galaxy S5 mini sports a 4.5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) Super AMOLED touch screen display and 16 M colors, as earlier I had mentioned in Galaxy Tab S 8.4.
It is powered by a quad-core processor (Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor) clocked at 1.4 GHz of speed and clubbed with 1.5 GB of RAM.

The Galaxy S5 mini allows consumers to enjoy the iconic design and essential and useful features of the Galaxy S5 through a maximized minimalism approach.”
The Galaxy S5 mini runs on Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box, features java, and the browser also supports flash.
The cellphone has 16 GB of inbuilt storage, which is further expandable up to 64 GB via an external MicroSD card.
The Galaxy S5 mini houses an 8-megapixel auto-focus rear primary camera with LED flash, and there is a 2.1-MP frontal camera also onboard for video calling and selfies.
The Galaxy S5 mini packs a 2100mAh battery (talk-time and standby ratings not available).
Measuring the phone, the dimension is 131.1×64.8×9.1mm, while it weighs 120 grams.
Galaxy S5 mini comes with an accelerometer, digital compass, gyro, proximity, and ambient light sensors.
The connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, Micro-USB, GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, 3G, 3.5mm headphone-jack, FM radio, single SIM (micro-SIM / GSM) and IR Remote.
