The official website of Huawei has listed another data card, EC176, without any tag price.
According to Huawei, the OEM of data cards, EC176 USB Stick, is a wireless network terminal based on the CDMA2000 1x and the CDMA2000 1x EV-DO Rev. A protocols. The EC176 provides high-rate packet data services in addition to SMS, supporting wireless downloading speed up to 3.1Mbit/s and uploading speed as high as 1.8Mbit/s.
The EC176 features 3G CDMA2000 1X EV-DO REV. A and 2G CDMA2000 1X RTT networks; has built with a memory card slot, can be upgraded up to 16 GB via an external MicroSD card.
The EC176 comes with a built-in antenna, does not support an external antenna to enhance the network, supports receive diversity. It can be operated with all major OS; including Windows XP SP2/SP3, Windows Vista SP1/SP2, Windows 7, Mac OS X 10.5 and 10.6 , 10.7 with latest upgrades.
If the device comes with unlocked firmware, it can be unlocked for free with CDMA workshop steps, as presently there is no other firmware update available for the EC176 data card.
