Huawei has launched another mobile WiFi hotspot router listed on the company’s global website without a price tag and its availability details. It is currently available in Switzerland with a price of 118.90 Swiss Franc at me-your-shop.
The Huawei E5338 comes in black and white variant colours and features HSPA+ / HSPA / UMTS / EDGE / GPRS / GSM bands. IN HSPA+ network it is able to download a file with up to 21.6 Mbit/s, while HSDPA (DL) HSUPA (UL) speed is up to 14.4 Mbit/s and HSUPA (UL) up to 5.76 Mbit/s.
The E5338 comes with 4 pilot lamps, which shows the different status of WiFi, network strength, battery, and roaming. It packs a 1500mAh battery, which provides up to 6 hours of working time on WiFi and 300 hours standby while Wi-Fi is off.
E5338 does not come with any external antenna interface, supports WiFi IEEE 802.11b/g/n. It can provide an internet connection to up to 10 devices; Wi-Fi enabled devices simultaneously. It is compatible with Windows XP SP3, Windows Vista SP1/SP2, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1 (does not support Windows RT), MAC OS X 10.7, 10.8, and 10.9 with the latest upgrades.
Huawei E5338 comes with a SIM slot and a MicroSD card slot, which can be upgraded with up to 32 GB of a flashcard. It measures 98.4 x 54.5 x 6.8 mm, and its weight is about 67g (including the battery).
Overall, it is a nice device to share the internet but lacks 4G LTE. It is good up to 100 USD.
