Acer has unveiled Aspire Switch 12, a five-in-one convertible laptop. It will be available in the UK from December with a starting price of £529.
According to the company, Acer Aspire Switch 12 can handle 8 hours of video playback, while the Intel Core M chip’s fanless design makes the laptop “whisper quiet.” It is further coupled with 4GB of RAM and Microsoft’s Windows 8.1 operating system.
The Aspire Switch 12 features a 12.5-inches Full 1080 HD touch screen display, which can be viewed in several modes, including notebook, display, tent, pad, and a traditional laptop. The screen features Corning Gorilla Glass, anti-fingerprint coating, and Zero Air Gap bonding, which promises wide viewing angles and great detail.
Like the Microsoft Surface Pro 3, the Acer Aspire Switch 12 also comes with an optional stylus, the Acer Active Pen. It has dual front-facing stereo speakers, dual antennas, USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 ports, HDMI port, 3.5 mm jack, and 60 GB or 120 GB internal storage. It will be available in the UK from December, and the company said that a US launch is penciled in for next year.
