Sony has launched Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact along with Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3 Compact, and Xperia E3 smartphones. However, the company has not announced the pricing yet. It will be available in Black and white variant colors.
According to Sony, it will launch globally in both LTE and Wi-Fi variants in Autumn 2014. However, you can register the tablet from the company’s main website.
The Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact sports an 8-inch WUXGA (1920×1200 pixels) TRILUMINOS touchscreen display powered by X-Reality for the mobile picture engine. The handset runs on the latest Android 4.4 KitKat OS. It boasts a 2.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor with 3GB of RAM.
The Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact is a waterproof and dust-proof tablet (with IP65/68 rating). It comes with 16 GB of inbuilt storage, which is expandable via a MicroSD card (up to 128 GB).
It houses an 8.1-megapixel autofocus rear camera with an Exmor RS sensor, while there is a secondary 2.2-megapixel front-facing camera onboard for video calling and selfie. The rear camera of the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact features 8x digital zoom, SteadyShot – video stabilization, Burst mode, Object tracking – lock focus on a specific object.
In terms of connectivity options, the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact includes 4G LTE (in some markets), GPRS/ EDGE, A-GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, NFC, and Bluetooth 4.0. It is backed by a 4500mAh battery, rated for delivering up to 1220 hours of standby time.
The SonyMobile Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact measures 213x123x6.4mm, and weighs 280 grams. It has features like PS4 Remote Play, allowing users to stream their PS4 games onto the tablet over the home Wi-Fi network. A DualShock 4 Wireless Controller and GCM10 Game Control Mount will be required to play games.
