Samsung has launched a new Galaxy Tab-series tablet, the Galaxy Tab E in Taiwan. The new slate will be available in Taiwan, starting end of June at TWD 6,990 (about Rs. 14,500 / 226 USD) in Taiwan. So far, there is no word on the global release.
The Wi-Fi only Samsung Galaxy Tab E features a 9.6-inch (1280×800 pixels) WXGA TFT display and powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor coupled with 1.5GB of RAM. It runs Android, but unfortunately the company has not revealed the version.
The Galaxy Tab E sports a 5-megapixel autofocus rear camera, and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. The rear snapper can record 720p videos at 30fps. It is also equipped with 8GB of built-in storage that is expandable via microSD card (up to 128GB).
Connectivity options on the Samsung Galaxy Tab E tablet include Wi-Fi, Micro-USB with OTG, Bluetooth, and Glonass. The handset is backed by a 5000mAh battery, measures 241.9×149.5×8.5mm and weighs 490 grams. The company is also expected to introduce a 3G or 4G variant of the tablet as well.

Samsung already started pushing Android 5.1.1 Lollipop updates for the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. These flagship handsets were launched running Android 5.0 Lollipop. Besides including several bug fixes for the devices, the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update for Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge is said to introduce some useful features such as an easier to use exposure control system for the camera alongside wallpaper with parallax effect.
