OBI S451 Falcon will be launched in Middle east soon as it is listed in the company website without any price tag. According to the Gulfbusiness the company will launch Octopus S520, Hornbill S551, Wolverine S501 and Obi F240 also.
The new smartphone, OBI S451 Falcon is running on Android KitKat 4.4 OS which is powered by MediaTek MT6572 1.3GHz Dual-core Processor with 1GB of RAM. It comes with 4GB of internal storage which is further expandable with up to 32GB via memory card.
It is a dual SIM (Micro SIM & Regular SIM / WCDMA+WCDMA) supported 3G handset measures 131mm*66.3mm*8.9mm and packs a 2200mAh Li-ion battery. It weighs 137 grams and sports a 4.5-inches qHD (960*540 Pixels) IPS Capacitive Touch Screen display.
“We said how can we take Apple’s brilliance at the premier end of the market and translate it to a market that Apple has no interest to participate in? Which is a very different price point, but yet there are a lot of young people who just don’t have the budget to be able to buy a smartphone at a higher price,” Sculley said in explaining the company’s strategy.
He was not coy, however, in suggesting what his former Apple compatriot Steve Jobs would think of the Obi Mobile devices. “Steve being Steve would say, you can do a lot better,” he said.
The main highlights of Obi Falcon S451 is it houses an 8-megapixel rear rotating camera with GC5004 CMOS Sensor and auto focus. In terms of connectivity options, the Falcon S451 includes; WiFi, Bluetooth, 3.5 mm ear-jack, GPS and microUSB.
