Amazon has listed Fire HDX 8.9 Tablet in three variant storage on UK and USA website. In the UK, 16 GB, 32 GB, and 64 GB variant storage are priced at £329, £369, and £409, respectively. While in the USA, the tab will be available for $379, $429, and $479, respectively.
The Fire HDX 8.9 Tablet is listed for pre-order at Amazon and will be available in the USA from starting October 21, 2014, while in the UK from starting November 4, 2014. On the connectivity side also, the tab had devices into two parts in the UK: WiFi only and WiFi + 4G LTE. In the USA, it has divided into two parts: Wi-Fi + 4G LTE GSM Unlocked (incl. AT&T) and Wi-Fi + 4G LTE (Verizon).
The Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 Tablet sports an 8.9-inches HDX display (2560×1600 pixels) that features an exceptional pixel density (over 4 million pixels, 339 PPI) for vivid, lifelike images. The company says, weighing just 13.2 ounces, Fire HDX 8.9 is 20% lighter than iPad Air (Wi-Fi: 375 grams and 4G: 390 grams). The handset runs on the latest Firefox OS 4.
The Fire HDX 8.9 is powered by a 2.5 GHz quad-core processor with 2GB RAM and Adreno 420 GPU. It houses an 8MP rear-facing camera with LED flash for high-resolution photos and 1080p HD video, plus a front-facing 720p HD camera for video calls. The firm offering free unlimited storage in Cloud Drive for photos taken on Fire devices.
The Fire HDX 8.9 measures 231 x 158 x 7.8 mm (9.1″ x 6.2 ” x 0.31″) and packs a powerful battery, which is rated for 11 hours of mixed usage.
