Lava has launched the Android 4.4.2 Kitkat update for his smartphone, Iris 405+. This KitKat can be upgraded via FOTA or through PC also. The new KitKat update is merely 489MB in size. The handset is currently available in India with a price of Rs 4900, which is running on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS.
Before proceeding with the update, make sure your Lava Iris 405 Plus is connected to the internet (at least 600MB data is required), and at least 500MB space is free in your phone storage or SD card. Before proceeding with the KitKat update, either fully charge your handset or connect to the power supply till the upgrade finish. Take the backup of your personal data and now proceed.
How to update Android KitKat 4.4.2 on Lava Iris 405+?
1. Go to Menu > Settings > About phone > Build number and check the software version available on your device.
2. Note the Build number.
3. Download the update.zip file according to Lava Iris 405+ build number.
4. The company says, for build no. Lava_iris405+_S115_XXXXXXX- There are two steps to upgrade :
Go-To System Settings > About Phone > Software Update > Check for Updates. Download and install the package (< 10MB). The phone will restart the phone, but this is not KitKat yet.
Now again, Go-To System Settings > About Phone >Software Update > Check for Updates. Download and install the 489MB KitKat package. The phone will restart once KitKat 4.4.2 upgrade is installed.
5. For build no. Lava_iris405+_S117_XXXXXXX- There are two steps to upgrade :
Go-To System Settings > About Phone > Software Update > Check for Updates. Download and install the package (< 10MB). The phone will restart, but this is not KitKat yet.
Now again, Go-To System Settings > About Phone >Software Update > Check for Updates. Download and install the 489 MB KitKat package. The phone will restart once the KitKat upgrade is installed in your Lava Iris 405+.
Note: To install the updates through PC. Download the correct package on your computer. Connect your phone as mass storage. Copy the downloaded package in the root of phone memory or memory card (it should not be in any folder).
Now, Go To System Settings > About Phone >Software Update > Check for Updates. Now follow the instructions to update the KitKat on your Lava Iris 405 Plus smartphone.
