Xiaomi launched Redmi Note 2 Prime as well as Redmi Note 2 in an event in China. The Prime is priced at CNY 999 (about Rs. 10,000). The company has also launched MIUI 7 custom ROM based on Android 5.0 Lollipop.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Prime comes with 32GB storage and features a 5.5-inch full HD (1080×1920 pixels) display. The handset is backed by an octa-core Helio X10 SoC (2.2GHz quad-core Cortex A53 + 2.2GHz quad-core Cortex A53) and has 2GB of RAM. There is a 3060mAH battery, along with quick charge technology.
The Redmi Note 2 features a 13-mega-pixel Samsung rear camera with phase detection autofocus (PDAF) and have a shutter speed of 0.1-second. It also features an aperture of f/2.2 plus a 5-element lens. The phone also houses a 5-mega-pixel front camera with an OmniVision sensor.
Connectivity options available are 4G LTE / 3G HPSA+, Wifi b/g/n/a-c, micro USB 2.0, Wireless, GPS, and infrared that designed for common remote control of suitable devices. It measures 152x76x8.25 mm and weighs 160 gms. It has dual micro SIM slots.
