Upcoming smartphone from Chinese vendor Xiaomi Redmi 2 will be available in China for 699 RMB (approx. 112 USD). Till now there is no word about international pricing.
According to the official details, the Redmi 2 sports a 4.7-inch HD IPS display with 1280×720 pixels of resolution. It is powered by a 64-big 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 (MSM8916) processor and coupled with Adreno 306 GPU. The phone runs the latest 0MIUI 6 OS that is based on Google’s Android v4.4 KitKat.
Alongside 1GB of RAM, the Xiaomi Redmi 2 also comes with 8GB of internal storage that is further expandable with up to 32GB of memory card. It houses an 8-megapixel rear camera and also boasts a 2-megapixel front-facing camera for selfie. It is backed by a 2200 mAh Samsung Lithium polymer battery.
In terms of connectivity options, the Xiaomi Redmi 2 include FM Radio, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, USB, Mobile hotspot, GPS and 3.5mm audio jack. Its weight is 133 grams and it is 9.4mm thick. It supports accelerometer, proximity, ambient light and G-sensor.
