Xiaomi Redmi 2 with Dual 4G LTE Connectivity Launched, Priced at 699 RMB

The upcoming smartphone from Chinese vendor Xiaomi Redmi 2 will be available in China for 699 RMB (approx. 112 USD). Till now, there is no word about international pricing.

The main highlights of Xiaomi‘s Redmi 2 are it comes with dual SIM, and both feature 4G LTE connectivity. It will be available in White, Dark gray, Bright Yellow, Light Green, and Pink variant color options. At 4G connectivity, the handset can download a file with up to 150 Mbps, and the upload speed limit is 50 Mbps.

According to the official details, the Redmi 2 sports a 4.7-inch HD IPS display with 1280×720 pixels resolution. It is powered by a 64-big 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 (MSM8916) processor and coupled with Adreno 306 GPU. The phone runs the latest 0MIUI 6 OS that is based on Google’s Android v4.4 KitKat.

Alongside 1GB of RAM, the Xiaomi Redmi 2 also comes with 8GB of internal storage that is further expandable with up to 32 GB of memory cards. It houses an 8-megapixel rear camera and also boasts a 2-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies. It is backed by a 2200 mAh Samsung Lithium polymer battery.

The Xiaomi Redmi 2 includes FM Radio, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, USB, Mobile hotspot, GPS, and 3.5mm audio jack in terms of connectivity options. Its weight is 133 grams, and it is 9.4mm thick. It supports accelerometer, proximity, ambient light, and G-sensor.
