Xiaomi has already surprise the Indian market by launching the Redmi 1S smartphone in only Rs 5999. Now, the company is moving to Indonesia to launch the same with a price IDR 1.5 million (roughly US$ 128).
The Chinese firm Xiaomi heads Hugo Barra and Lin Bin flew to Jakarta and presenting Redmi 1S with a price IDR 1.5 million Redmi 1S. It company is also offering the same device in Singapore for S$169 or US$136, which is much amount than Indonesia.
The Redmi 1S will be exclusively sold on ecommerce site Lazada Indonesia. The online sale will commence on September 4 at 11am until stocks last.
The Redmi 1S sports a 4.7-inch IPS touchscreen display with a pixels resolution of 1280×720. The phone is powered by an 1.6GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB RAM and Adreno 305 GPU. It is running on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OS out of the box.
It has 8MP back camera, and 1.6MP front camera, also supports dual SIMs. Xiaomi has 17 service centers in 15 cities of Indonesia.
