Toshiba Launched Encore 2 10-inch Windows 8.1 Tablet with a Tag Price $269

Toshiba expanded the tablet range and introduced two new Windows 8.1 based Tablets of Encore 2 range, Encore 2 or 10-inch display and 8-inch display.

The Encore 2 of the 10-inch variant will be available with a tag price of $269 (Roughly 16145 Indian Rupee), but 8-inch has been priced at $199 (Roughly 11945 Indian Rupee).

Along with these two Windows 8.1 tablets, Toshiba has launched Excite Go Android KitKat based tablet also.

The Toshiba Encore 2 (10″ variant model) sports a 10.00-inch multi-touch bright HD screen display with 800×1280 pixels of resolution, available in silver color.

The Encore 2 boasts a quad-core Intel Atom Z3735F processor, clocked at 1.3 GHz of speed, coupled with 2GB of RAM.

The Encore 2 has 64 GB of inbuilt storage, can be expanded with up to 128 GB of microSDXC cards.

The Encore 2 houses a 5 Mega Pixel rear camera, without flash, and a 1.2 MP front camera is also on-board for video calling and selfies.

“Our Encore 2 tablets are the perfect complement to a customer’s arsenal of devices, giving them the familiarity and common functionality of Windows for a more seamless computing experience, whether they’re editing or creating documents, enjoying movies and games or staying in touch with friends and family,” said Philip Osako, senior director of product marketing, Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., Digital Products Division.

The Encore 2 runs on Microsoft Windows 8.1 OS out-of-the-box and does not support Java; the browser also does not feature flash.

In connectivity options, Encore 2 has; WiFi 802.11 n, Micro-USB, and single SIM (GSM).

The Toshiba Encore 2 comes with a 1-year subscription to Office 365 Personal Edition. Once fully charged, the tablet can run for 8.5 hours.

Encore 2 tablets feature an elegant Satin gold matte finish, measuring 0.4 inches thin; the 10-inch Encore 2 weighs just 1.2 pounds.

There are no other specifications that have been provided by the company. However, it comes with pre-loaded apps like Xbox Music and Video, Kindle Reader, and Skype.

The tablets offer up to 10-hour battery life for general usage and 8 hours of video playback. Stereo speakers plus Dolby Digital Plus audio provide an immersive audio experience, while ultrafast 802.11n Wi-Fi offers speedy streaming and smooth browsing. Encore 2 tablets additionally make it easy to enjoy content on compatible HDTV’s with a built-in Micro HDMI port and wireless display support right out of the box. For students and mobile professionals, Encore 2 devices also include TruCapture, an app that works in conjunction with the integrated cameras to capture and correct snapshots of whiteboards, blackboards, and books, so the contents are sharp, clear, and legible.
