Sony Xperia Z4 with 5.2-inch FHD screen and a Metal Frame Announced

Sony has announced a new flagship smartphone in Japan, the Xperia Z4.

Sony Xperia Z4The Sony Xperia Z4 features a 5.2-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Triluminos display with Live Colour LED powered by X-Reality engine. It boasts an octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor, coupled with Adreno 430 GPU and 3 GB of RAM. It is also equipped with 32 GB of internal memory, further expandable up to 128 GB via a MicroSD card.

The Sony Xperia Z4 runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop OS out of the box. The phablet houses a 20.7-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, 1/2.3″ Exmor RS image sensor, and BIONZ image processing engine. It is capable of shooting 4K videos as well. There is also a 5.1-megapixel front-facing camera with an Exmor R sensor and a 25 mm wide-angle lens for selfies/video calling. It can shoot 1080p Full HD videos and has digital image stabilization.

The Xperia Z4 flagship smartphone is 6.9 mm thick and weighs 144 grams. It is equipped with Sony’s new LDAC audio compression codec, which promises wireless music playback and a high-quality music experience.

In terms of connectivity specs, the Sony Xperia Z4 include 4G LTE /3G HPSA+, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (2.4 GHz & 5 GHz) MIMO, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC, MHL 3.0, FM Radio with RDS and GPS/GLONASS. It is backed by a 2,930 mAh battery with STAMINA mode. It is also IPX5 / IPX8 certified, which makes it dust and water-resistant.

The Sony Xperia Z4 will be available in Black, Copper, Aqua Green, and White color variants. There is no word on the pricing and its global rollout yet.
