Sony has announced Xperia E3 at its pre-IFA 2014 event in Berlin, the successor of its Xperia E1. Price has not been revealed yet, but says that smartphone will be launched globally in Autumn 2014.
Sony Xperia E3 is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor which is clocked at 1.2GHz CPU speed, and coupled with 1GB of RAM and combines an Adreno 305 GPU. It comes with 4GB of built-in storage, which is expandable via microSD card (up to 32GB).
The Xperia E3 includes a new feature, the ‘shake to start’ app that lets users customise shortcuts to access the preferred apps by holding the handset and flicking the wrist.
In terms of connectivity options, the Xperia E3 includes 4G LTE (selected markets), 3G, GPRS/ EDGE, Wi-Fi, A-GPS with Glonass, USB 2.0, FM radio with RDS, Bluetooth 4.0 and a 3.5mm jack.
The Xperia E3 packs a 2330mAh battery, which is rated to deliver up to 12 hours 20 minutes of talk time or up to 706 hours of standby time. The smartphone weighs 143.8 grams and measures 137.1×69.4×8.5mm.
