Samsung Galaxy Tab Active – rugged slate from the company will be available for purchase in India for Rs 52,000.
The Galaxy Tab Active features an 8-inch WXGA display (1280 x 800 pixels) and is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor, alongside 1.5 GB of RAM. It is equipped with 16 GB of internal storage and can be expanded to 64 GB via a MicroSD card.
Samsung Galaxy Tab Active runs on Android 4.4 KitKat and will be upgradable to Android 5.0 Lollipop. It has a 3.1 megapixel Auto Focus rear primary camera with LED flash and a 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calls. It weighs 393 grams and is 9.75 mm thick.
The Galaxy Tab Active is Samsung’s first rugged Galaxy Tablet with an anti-shock covering, which can withstand a 1.2-meter drop while its protective cover is on. It is water and dust resistant with IP67 certification.
Apart from the 4G LTE, the phone comes with 3G HSPA+, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, GPS, GLONASS, and NFC as connectivity options. It will be available in Titanium Green color with the Protective Cover and C-Pen. The user can replace its 4,450 mAh battery. It should be available in India around March 2015 for Rs 52,000.
