Phicomm Passion P660 was expected to arrive in India, and now the company has confirmed its entry into the Indian smartphone market with the launch of its first handset – the Passion 660. The smartphone is priced at Rs. 10,999 and will be exclusively available to buy from Amazon India website from Tuesday in Black and White colour variants.
The dual-SIM supporting Phicomm Passion 660 uses hybrid technology, and the second Nano-SIM slot can be used as a microSD card slot. It features a 5-inch IPS full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) display with a pixel density of 441ppi, alongside Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection.
Packed with a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, the Passion 660 clubbed with 2GB of RAM and Adreno 405 GPU. The phone runs the company’s Expect OS 5.0 based on Android 4.4 KitKat OS. Housing a 13-megapixel Sony IMX214 rear sensor with f/2.0 aperture, it also sports a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with BSI sensor.
The 16GB inbuilt storage on the Phicomm Passion 660 can be expanded via microSD card (up to 64GB). On the connectivity front, the smartphone include 4G LTE (with support for both Band 3 and Band 40 in India), 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n with Direct functionality, USB, GPS and Bluetooth 4.0 options.
The Passion 660 measures 139.5x69x7.3mm and weighs 110 grams, that is backed by a 2300mAh battery. Available in Black and White colour variants, the smartphone also includes a bunch of sensors including accelerometer, e-compass, barometer, light, proximity, step-counter, and gesture. The device uses Qualcomm Snapdragon Voice+ technology and two microphones for clear voice chats.
Since Phicomm is a newcomer in Indian smartphone market, we have to wait and watch how it grows in new environment.
