How to Permanently Delete Files and Folders from Windows?

101

By default, when we delete a file or folder from our Windows computer, it gets stored in Recycle Bin. Files and folders from the Recycle Bin can be recovered restored to their original place. If you empty the Recycle Bin or delete a file/folder by pressing the Shift + Del button, it can also be recovered by data recovery software, which means you are still not safe.

Moreover, the deleted data can be recovered from the formatted disks also. If you have sensitive data on your computer and want to erase it, you need to take the help of a third-party tool, the Folder Shredder.

Folder Shredder

Folder Shredder is a freeware app for Windows that lets you permanently delete all the sensitive digital information from your computer, such as documents, music, videos, photos, software, etc.

It comes in a portable format, which means there is no need to install it on your PC; launch and start shredding the folders. This tool’s interface is quite simple, and you need to select the folder and then click the Start Shredding button.

FolderShredder repeatedly overwrites on alternate patterns, rewrite files in binary mode, shrink files, rewrite again, encrypt, rename, and then Delete; that makes it impossible to recover the deleted data.

The application claims to have military-grade shredding, with almost 20 times rewrite to not recoverable.

There are two executable files available for download, and one is with the black interface and another one with white. You can get it from here.
