Panasonic’s new flagship Octa-core smartphone P81 is going to be launched today in India. Last week Panasonic had officially released a couple of teaser videos of P81 describing features of the phone, and now the key specifications as well as price of the device is leaked by some unofficial sources.

Panasonic P81 android smartphone is a big-screen mid-range smartphone (phablet) with 5.5-inch HD (720p) display and going to ship with 1.7 GHz True Octa-core CPU (chipset MediaTek), 1GB RAM, 8GB (expandable up to 32GB using external microSD card).

The 7.9mm thick Panasonic P81 is a dual-SIM (Micro-SIM, dual-standby) 3G smartphone with 5.5-inch 720p display. The P81 has a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.2 aperture and 28 mm wide angle lens, as well as a 2-megapixel front camera for Video Calling. 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Wi-Fi Direct, GPS, Bluetooth 3.0 A2DP, Micro-USB 2.0, and FM radio with RDS are the basic connectivity options included with this smartphone.


The P81 is sports a 2500mAh battery and runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean with Panasonic’s own Play Life UI on top.


The Panasonic P81 will be available in Black leatherette finish from retail stores starting today (Tuesday) with a MRP of Rs. 19,990 and a best buy price of Rs. 18,990. The company is giving ‘freebies worth Rs. 11,900’ with the phone including a flip cover with screen guard, and various digital subscriptions from the likes of Evernote, Hungama, Readwhere, amongst others.
