Oppo R5 has taken the crown of the world’s slimmest smartphone from Gionee Elife S5.1. The Gionee Elife S5.1 is 5.1 mm thin, but the newest Oppo R5 is only 4.85 mm thin.
The R5 would be available in Silver and Gold variant colors soon. It measures 148.9 × 74.5 × 4.85 mm and weighs only 155 gms. It runs on the company’s latest ColorOS 2.0, which is based on Android 4.4 KitKat. It is powered by a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 Octa-Core (MSM8939) processor, with Adreno 330 GPU and 2GB of RAM.
The Oppo R5 comes with 16 GB of built-in storage that is not expandable. It is backed by a 2000 mAh Li-Po battery with Rapid Charge technology. It supports a single Micro SIM card and features 5.5-inch AMOLED Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display with 423 PPI and 16 million colors.
The R5 smartphone houses a 13-megapixel rear-facing Sony Exmor IMX214 BSI sensor and a 5-megapixel front-facing 83-degree wide-angle lens front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture. In terms of connectivity options, the handset include; WCDMA, 4G, FDD-LTE, TD-LTE, USB OTG, Bluetooth 4.0, 5G Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/a, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi Display and GPS.
