How to Open Any URL from the Taskbar in Windows 8 and Windows 7?

Everybody knows to open a URL through the web-browser. Open the browser and type the address, and hit enter from the keyboard, and it gives the result. But, you might not be familiar with opening the URL / web page from the taskbar.

To able to open the URL from the browser taskbar, you need to do the following steps:-

Right-click on the taskbar and go to Toolbars, and select Address.

Select Address

Now, one toolbar with a search box will be visible in your PC taskbar.

Put any web page address and hit enter from the keyboard. It will open the URL in the default browser.

If you want to search a phrase of words over the internet, then also it is possible. Suppose you want to search “router unlock,” then write the phrase in the address bar and hit enter from the keyboard. It will search that phrase in the default Search engine. However, when you try to search a single keyword, suppose “unlock,” then it will not work.

This trick works in Windows 7 / Windows 8 and Win 8.1 too.

If you want to disable or enable transparency of Windows 8 and Windows 10, you can try a new freeware Opaque Taskbar.
