Microsoft has announced the latest Windows Phone, the Lumia 830, at IFA 2014 in Berlin. The company has confirmed that the Lumia 830 will be shipping globally this month for EUR 330 (roughly Rs. 26,200). It will be available in Green, Grey, Orange, and White colors.
Apart from Lumia 830, Microsoft also announced the budget Lumia 730 Dual SIM and Lumia 735. Microsoft says it is “thinnest and lightest Lumia to date.”
The Lumia 830 houses a 10 Megapixel PureView camera with Carl Zeiss optics, LED flash and Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) set-up seen. There is also a 1-megapixel front-facing camera is fixed onboard for video calling and selfie.
The Lumia 830 includes Nokia Rich Recording – with three mics offering true 5.1 surround sound. The company confirmed that an over-the-air (OTA) update of Lumia Camera would bring even quicker camera start-up and shooting speeds and add new features such as Rich Capture and Moment Capture.
The Lumia 830 features a 5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) ClearBlack IPS LCD offering a pixel density of 296ppi. A 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor powers it with 1GB of RAM.
This smartphone comes with 16GB of inbuilt storage, further expandable up to 128GB (via microSD card). Additionally, the firm also offering 15GB of free cloud storage available via OneDrive. A 2200mAh battery backs it, and the device supports wireless charging.
Lumia 830 runs on Windows Phone 8.1 OS with Lumia Denim update; the Lumia 830 comes preloaded with features such as Notification Centre, Live Tiles, Microsoft Office, Cortana, OneDrive, Live Folders, Apps Corner, and Glance screen.
