The company has released the update for his earlier launched flagship handset Xiaomi Mi3 and Xiaomi Mi4. The MIUI v4.8.29 with MIUI 6 update has come with many new features for Mi3 and Mi4; it brings a new notification center with toggles for the music control panel, notifications for new messages, missed calls, reminders, app notices, and many more.
According to the company, in addition to the MIUI 6 update, this update fixes a security hole that users didn’t need to confirm the old password while setting a new password, Support AirPlay wireless speaker, new Ignore data usage option to make data statistics more accurate and some bugs also fixed.
The MIUI 6 (v4.8.29) firmware update is now available via OTA (Over-the-air) for the Mi 3 and Mi 4, and the download size is 417 MB. Developer’s ROM needs to be installed to get the OTA, but you can manually flash the MIUI6 Developer ROM with MIUI 6.
Xiaomi has also released MIUI Express or Lite launcher 2.2.0 with the new MIUI 6 theme for those who are not using Mi3 or Mi4 handsets. It can be downloaded (MIUI Lite MIUI 6 Version) from here (Registration is required to download the APK).
