Micromax has launched two new feature phones in the Indian market – the Joy X1800 and Joy X1850. Notably, both mobiles come in a pouch packaging, instead of the conventional box. These basic feature phones have been priced at Rs 699 and Rs 749, respectively.
According to Micromax, it is the first time in the Indian market; a company is retailing smartphones in pouch packages.
Micromax‘s Joy X1800 and Joy X1850 have all basic functionality, including a colored display, a basic camera, FM radio, alarm clock, flashlight, and more. Both of these phones have a 4.49 cm (1.77 inch) 128 x 160-pixel display.
Joy X1800 comes with a smaller 750mAh battery, which can last for 235 hours on standby and 3 hours of talk time. On the other hand, Joy X1850 has a bigger 1800 mAh battery that promises 25 days standby and 7.5h talk time. Other features include Dual-SIM support, Bluetooth 3.0, and 4 GB MicroSD Card support.
Commenting on the launch, Mr. Vineet Taneja, CEO, Micromax Informatics Limited, said, “We introduce products which offer great value to the consumers. With the launch of the Joy series, we have taken the lead yet again by offering a unique combination of innovative packaging and great value through our offerings.”
Joy X1800 is already available for purchase in the Indian market with a price of 699 INR, while Joy X1850 will arrive next week for just 749 INR.
