Micromax has launched the company’s first 4G-enabled smartphone in India, dubbed as Canvas Knight 2 E471. It will be available throughout the homeland with a price of INR 16,299 ($261) from June 10.
The Micromax Canvas Knight 2 E471 has been constructed using glass panels at the front and the back while a metal frame runs around the sides. The glass panels are made of Corning Gorilla Glass 3, and the front device features a 5-inch 720p AMOLED display.
The Canvas Knight 2 is powered by a 1.5GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor and 2GB of RAM. The handset supports two 4G network capable SIM cards inside the device. It is also loaded with the latest OS, Android 5.0 Lollipop.
Canvas Knight 2 packs a 13 MP rear snapper with a Sony IMX214 CMOS sensor and a 5-element lens for the video. At the front, there is also a 5MP shooter with OmniVision OV5648 sensor and a 4-element lens. 16 GB on-board storage can be further expanded with up to 32 GB MicroSD card to hold multimedia.
Better audio output can be got by the Cirrus Logic Wolfson Stereo WM8998 mobile chipset integrated into the phone. A 2230mAh battery fuels the smartphone.

Today, Intex has also launched its first 4G-enabled handset in India, dubbed Aqua 4G+. It is priced at Rs. 9499 and supports dual-SIM, one 4G LTE and another is 3G HSPA. Other specs are almost the same; however, it is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735 64-bit CPU.
