Although Meizu MX4 was introduced in September last year, its successor takes too much time to launch. Finally, the Chinese company officially announced the Meizu MX5 through live stream video.

Meizu’s newest flagship Meizu MX5 packs a 5.5-inch FullHD unit, 3GB of RAM, and 16 GB of internal storage. There’s a 20.7 MP primary camera on the back of the handset, capable of 2160p video recording. On top of that, the 5MP selfie snapper can also shoot 1080p videos.

It was initially known that the chipset inside the Meizu MX5 would be an MT6793, one we hadn’t seen officially announced. However, both of today’s benchmark entries report Mediatek’s MT6795T SoC, also known as Helio X10, so we’d put our money on that one. It comes with an octa-core Cortex-A53 processor clocked at up to 2.1GHz and a PowerVR G6200 GPU.

How many of these rumors will get confirmed today? Well, let’s watch Meizu stream the MX5 unveiling event live below, and we’ll know for sure.
