Lava International has launched its new flagship smartphone, Iris X1, with android’s KitKat 4.42 OS. As the official announcement, the phone will be exclusively available through the Amazon India website at Rs 7,999.

Micromax has already launched Unite 2 A106 and Canvas Engage, based on Android KitKat 4.4.2 OS; Lava Iris X1 is the second Indian mobile manufacturer.

The handset sports a 4.5-inch FWVGA IPS (854 x 480 pixels) display with a fully laminated touch screen. It is powered by a 1.2 GHz Quad-Core Broadcom BCM23550 processor with 1GB RAM.

The phone has a maximum thickness of 8.9 mm and weighs 138 grams. The cellphone houses an 8 MP rear camera with LED flash and a 1.4 µm pixel BSI+ sensor, and a 2.0-MP front-facing camera for video calling and selfies.

The device boasts 4GB of internal memory (ROM), expandable up to 32 GB via an external micro-SD card. The phone packs an 1800 mAh battery. Apart from 3G support, connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPRS/ EDGE, A-GPS, and Micro-USB.

It also comes with a new phone app that automatically prioritizes contacts based on the people a user talks to the most.
Based on the Iris Pro series, the X1 promises good build quality and beautiful looks.

It offers OTG support to enable file transfer through a USB drive on the move. The device promises a crystal clear calling experience by using Dual MIC for Active Noise Cancellation.

However, the Iris X1 smartphone is priced at Rs 7,999; the phone will be available in black and white color variants only, exclusively through Amazon from May 27. On the first day, online buyers will get a free 16 GB Ultra Micro SD card free.
