Lava has launched a Windows-based smartphone in India with a price of Rs 4,999, dubbed Iris Win1. Within a week, Celkon has also launched a Windows 8.1 phone dubbed as Win 400, which goes for sale in India at Rs 4,999.
The Lava Iris Win1 comes bundled with a free flip cover, and a screen guard will go for sale exclusively through the eCommerce online website Flipkart, starting today. It supports dual-SIM (WCDMA+GSM) and features dual standby functionality while running on Windows 8.1 OS.
Featuring a 4-inch WVGA (480×800 pixels) IPS touchscreen display, the Iris Win1 also supports accelerometer, proximity, and ambient light sensors. It is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and boasts 1GB RAM. It packs a 5-megapixel auto-focus rear camera with LED flash and BSI+ sensor, while a VGA front-facing camera onboard.
The Lava Iris Win1 also comes with 8GB built-in storage that is expandable via a microSD card (up to 32 GB). It is backed by a 1950mAh battery, includes connectivity options GPRS/ EDGE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, 3.5mm sound-jack, and Micro-USB.
