Iball – the manufacture of phones and modems, listed India’s first safety smartphone, specifically designed for females, tag price is Rs 10,990. The company has announced its phone, named Andi Uddaan, is the first smartphone for ladies, helps you with a single SOS button click. On pressing the SOS button, a siren rings, alerting people around, and sends a pre-defined message to five emergency contacts. It also starts calling those five numbers and updates your location on Facebook with geo-codes. The process of SIREN > SMS > CALLS is repeated thrice.

While Andi Uddaan has been specifically designed for females, still the Iball company has not compromised with its features and specifications. The phone sports a 12.7cm (5”) IPS qHD (960×540) High Quality (220 PPI) display with super responsive & smooth capacitive touch. The cell boasts a Powerful Dual Core 1.3GHz Cortex A7 Processor, along with 512MB RAM.
The Andi Uddaan houses a 2000mAh powerful battery, with no word about talk time and standby time. The smartphone boasts a 4GB Internal storage (ROM), which can be upgraded up to 32 GB via an external microSD card. Running on Google’s Android OS diets Jelly Bean 4.2.
The manufacture has also focused on its Camera specs. The Andi Uddaan phone wears an 8MP auto flash rear camera with BSI Sensor & Dual LED Flash, alongside a 5MP AF front camera with BSI Sensor.
The highlighted part about the Andi Uddaan is a 3G supported phone, whereas the tag price is only Rs 10,990. The phone can download a file in the HSPA+ network at a maximum speed of 21Mbps, and the upload speed limit is 5.76 Mbps.
Measuring 150 x 75 x 11mm, the phone weighs 168 grams; GPS & A-GPS are supported. Andi Uddaan comes bundled with a back cover, utility pouch, scratch guard & flip cover.
One can also keep track of your arrival and departure for up to 2 designated areas within India. They will also get automatic email alerts when you leave or enter the geofence. Up to 10 authorized people can track your movement live on an interactive map using the tracking function. All track reports are accessible to your defined close people via a web dashboard too.
The Andi Uddan ICE app was designed to store personal details like blood group, medical history, and emergency numbers for easy retrieval ‘In Case of Emergency’ (ICE).
