A few days ago, Airtel launched the modem of Huawei company. Users who are already using modems must know that it comes locked to a particular network, and one cannot use any other network provider SIM without unlocking. If you have purchased a modem of the Airtel brand, you can not use a dongle with a Vodafone SIM card. Hence, we keep writing articles about unlocking the dongle.

This unlock procedure will work on E173Cs-1 Airtel India and MTN Sudan modems with these firmware versions:

21.157.31.00.1043 (Build: Apr 23 2012 12:02:27)

21.157.31.00.284 (Build: Mar 17 2012 12:15:53)
21.157.13.00.284 (Build: Feb 16 2012 11:05:38)

How to unlock Huawei E173Cs-1 (Airtel India) Free?

Step 1. Download the firmware from the link which is provided at the end of the article.

Step 2. After downloading the said firmware, extract it using WinRAR software and launch “DriverSetup.exe. “

Step 3. Now, Click “Start.”

Step 4. Now, this wizard will detect your modem and ask for firmware code (Generate the flash code from this tool).

Step 5. Enter the generated flash code in the password box and click on OK.

Note: Do not disconnect the modem or turn off the computer – you can damage the modem.

Wait till drivers fully install on your computer, and the message below (Please wait..configuring software) disappears. After the message disappears, restart your computer.

Now remove the SIM card from the modem and launch DC-Unlocker client software.

Open the Server tab, enter your username and password that you received after the credits purchase. Click “Check login.” (you can buy credits here at www.dc-unlocker.com/buy). If DC-Unlocker/Vygis/Rocker/Infinity dongle is connected, do not enter username and password; only click “Check login.”

Then select the manufacturer as Huawei modems, and for the model, leave Auto Detect (recommended). Press the “Detect” button (Big magnifying search glass).
