Huawei will soon announce a new low budget smartphone, dubbed Ascend Y221 since it is listed on the company website without a price tag and its availability details.
The Huawei Ascend Y221 features a 3.5-inch touch screen display with HVGA 1920 x 1080 pixels of resolution and G-sensor. It is powered by a MediaTek MT6572M Dual-Core 1GHz processor with 512 MB of RAM. It runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS and packs a 4GB ROM that is expandable (up to 32 GB).
Some noticeable things are, the Ascend Y221 comes with a dual-SIM slot, and both slots support 3G, but the device does not come with GPS /A-GPS antenna. The phone will also not support the company’s Emotion UI. The handset includes; WiFi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth, FM radio, Key-light, MicroUSB, and WiFi hotspot in terms of connectivity options.
The Huawei Ascend Y221 houses a 2-megapixels rear-facing camera but no front-facing camera for video calling. A 1350mAh battery backs the handset.
