HTC J Butterfly has been launched exclusively in Japan via KDDI – a Japanese telecom operator. However, the company has not announced its price, but it will be available in Japan late August.
The HTC J Butterfly smartphone is just like HTC One M8, but there is no word that it is single SIM or Dual SIM. The phablet runs on Android 4.4 KitKat OS out-of-the-box.
The HTC J Butterfly is a waterproof handset, features a 5-inch full-HD display (1080×1920 pixels). It is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor and further coupled with 2GB of RAM.
The J Butterfly comes with 32GB of inbuilt storage, that can be further expanded via microSD card (up to 128GB). It sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with dual-LED flash, while it also firms a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for video calling and selfie. It features the dual rear camera setup with 2MP, the KDDI calls the rear setup as “Duo Effect” camera in the press statement. The J Butterfly will be available in Rouge, Canvas and Indigo colour variant.
Japan’s 4G LTE bands, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS/ A-GPS, GPRS/ EDGE and 3G are main connectivity options in HTC J Butterfly. It packs a 2700mAh battery. The cellphone weighs 156 grams, while it measures 145x70x10mm dimensions. The device supports Proximity, Accelerometer, and Ambient light sensors.
