Gionee Elife S5.1 Made Entry in Guinness Book of Records, World’s Slimmest Phone

The Chinese handset maker Gionee said its latest phone, the Elife S5.1, comes with a 5.1 mm body has been recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records as the slimmest smartphone in the world.

The Gionee Elife S5.1 has already been launched in China at a $325 price and will come to the Indian market by early November. The phone is running on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OS with Amigo 2.0 UI on-board.

Gionee Elife S5.1“We are excited to have made it to the Guinness World Records for the world’s thinnest smartphone category. The Gionee Elife S5.1 has been launched in China and will be available in India by early November,” Gionee Smartphones India Head Arvind Vohra told PTI.

The Elife S5.1 sports a 4.8-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen display with a resolution of 720×1280 pixels and 320ppi. It is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor with 1 GB of RAM. It comes with 16 GB of built-in storage, which is not expandable.

Gionee’s Elife S5.1 houses an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with an LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies. The company is also touting LTE connectivity. A 2050mAh battery backs it, and the handset will be available in Black, White, Pink, and Mint Green color variants.
