MDMA tool is viral, and recently the developer has released its latest version of USB Modem Dialer MDMA version 1.1.0.0. MDMA meaning is  Mobile Data Monitoring Application. I personally like the MDMA tool because of its small size and great features.

Before running the MDMA tool, make sure you have no other applications /dashboards/connection manager is using the COM port of your modem, which means you should close all dashboard/connection manager before running the MDMA tool. This is a great tool to keep track of your usage.

You can configure network mode as GPRS/EDGE Only, GPRS/EDGE Preferred, 3G Only, or 3G Preferred. It works fine with Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8 too.

MDMA tool supports the USSD option also. You can enter USSD commands here, and these are commands in the form *123# that are normally entered on your mobile phones’ keypad. Clicking on ‘USSD Help’ will display a brief listing of some USSD commands offered by your operator (if available). Sending a USSD command creates a session; some USSD services are billable; when you are finished, click the End Session button. USSD commands that don’t require any further input automatically end the session, in which case the End Session remains grayed out.

You can send multiple USSD commands separated by commas, for example, *111#,1,6 for Vodacom pre-paid data bundle balance. MDMA will wait for a response before sending the next command.

MDMA tool also receives cellular broadcast messages such as cell info, weather reports, and tower info are shown here. Not all operators provide 3G cell broadcasts, and you might need to switch your device to GPRS/EDGE mode to receive them.

The latest version of the MDMA tool works with Huawei, Alcatel, and ZTE modems.
