On Intel Developers Conference 2014 , Dell has unveiled the world’s thinnest tablet, the Dell Venue 8 7840. The slate measures at a mere 6mm (0.24 inches) thick.
The Dell Venue 8 7840 sports an 8.4-inch (21.3 cm) touchscreen display with a 2560 x 1600 pixels OLED panel, built by Samsung. It is running on Android 4.4 KitKat OS, which is powered by a quad-core 2.33GHz Intel Atom Z3580 processor. It comes with 32GB of built-in storage, and supports a microUSB charging port and Wi-Fi connectivity.
Dell Venue 8 7840 also comes with four cameras, three of which can take ‘3D images’. Three of them are on the back side of the tab, with the main one being 8-megapixels, and another two enable use of Intel’s RealSense technology.
Dell also confirms that, it will come with an optional adapter, which will also enable the Venue 8 7840 to be connected to a keyboard and mouse.
