Cricket Wireless is the first carrier in the U.S. to start offering the Microsoft Lumia 640, which was announced at this year’s MWC and its larger brother – the Lumia 640 XL.
The Cricket is offering $129.99 for the Lumia 640, without a contract. Currently only cyan version of the phone is available to buy. If you get the handset before June 30, Microsoft will offer you a 1-year Office 365 Personal bundle for free (roughly $69.99).
The Microsoft Lumia 640 is powered by a quad-core 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 400 processor, adds 1 GB of RAM and 5-inch 720p display. It also comes with an 8 MP rear camera with LED flash, and a 0.9 MP camera on the front. Other features include LTE connectivity, HERE Maps & Drive, Cortana, 8 GB of expandable storage space, and a 2500 mAh battery.
Lumia 640 currently runs Windows Phone 8.1, which his further up-gradable to Windows Phone 10 when it will be available. In the near future, the smartphone will also be released by AT&T, T-Mobile, and MetroPCS.
