Celkon has launched a new Campus-series smartphone, dubbed as Campus A35K Remote. It is priced at Rs. 3,199 for India and will be available to buy via online as well as offline retailers across India. The company is also offering a 16GB microSD card with the handset as a promotional offer.
The main highlight of the Celkon Campus A35K Remote smartphone is its built-in IR blaster that is capable of functioning as a universal remote along with the preloaded app Peel Smart Remote. According to the company, besides being a remote control for the TV and set top box, the Peel Smart Remote app can also control functionality of DVR, DVD player, air conditioner, and other home entertainment devices & appliances. Last month Peel has announced that its Peel Smart Remote app will be preloaded by various smartphone makers including Celkon.
The Celkon Campus A35K Remote is powered by a 1GHz single core processor and coupled with 256MB of RAM. It features a 3.5-inch HVGA touchscreen display with 320×480 pixels of resolution. The built-in 512MB storage is further expandable via up to 32GB via microSD card.
The Campus A35K Remote smartphone houses a 3.2-megapixel rear camera and also boasts a 0.3 Mega Pixel front facing snapper for selfies/video calling. In terms of connectivity options, the phone include 3G, FM Radio, WiFi, Bluetooth, micro-USB, Mobile hotspot, A-GPS, and 3.5mm audio jack. It has also dual-SIM (WCDMA+GSM) with dual standby functionality.
Celkon has already launched its first manufacturing facility in India, located in Medchal, Telangana. The manufacturing unit is 30,000 square feet in area and is ready to start production.
