If you are using Windows 8.1 then you have noticed that when you boot the PC then instead of its desktop you get Start Menu. When you click on desktop from Metro Start, then you see the Windows 8.1 desktop.

Some of us don’t like this feature and want to boot directly into Windows desktop instead of annoying metro start.

How to Boot to Desktop Directly instead of Windows Start Menu ?

1. Right click on the taskbar free space.

2. Choose properties.

Choose Properties of Taskbar3. Taskbar and Navigation Properties window will be opened.

4. Go to Navigation and select here “When I sign in or close all apps on a screen, go to the desktop instead of Start”.

Go to desktop5. Now click on Apply then OK.

6. Now restart your PC and sign to the Windows account.

You will get your PC desktop instead of the start menu in Windows 8.1.
