BlackBerry Passport is a high-end smartphone launched in India with a price of Rs 49,990. It is available online for pre-order at Amazon and BlackBerry’s exclusive stores starting today, 29th September 2014. It will go on sale on October 10th. Amazon is offering Rs 5000 worth of Amazon gift cards and 5000 complimentary miles from Jet airways for pre-order of BlackBerry Passport.
The BlackBerry Passport sports a 4.5-inches diagonal (1440 x 1440 pixels) display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The screen features 453 PPI and 10-point multi-touch. It is powered by a 2.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 (MSM8974-AA) processor with 450MHz Adreno 330 GPU and 3GB DDR3 RAM.
It runs on the latest BlackBerry 10.3 OS with the new BlackBerry Assistant, BlackBerry’s own personal assistant.
Blackberry Passport keyboard comes with touch-enabled keys right above, on-screen. It houses a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with LED Flash and also a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. The rear camera features 6DOF OIS, BSI sensor, 5-element f2.0 lens, LED Flash, and 1080p HD video recording at 60fps. The secondary camera features Image & video stabilization and 720p HD video recording.
The Passport features 4G LTE connectivity and has a 32GB internal memory with expandable up to 64GB. The handset measures 128 x 90.3 x 9.3mm and weighs 196 gms. In terms of connectivity options, the BlackBerry Passport includes; 3.5mm audio jack, FM Radio, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n (2.4GHz and 5GHz), Bluetooth 4.0 LE, SlimPort, NFC, and GPS + GLONASS. A 3450mAh non-removable battery backs it.
