Asus has unveiled Zenfone Zoom at CES 2015. According to the company, it will be available in the market for $399 before taxes.
Asus says about Zenfone Zoom, “ZenFone Zoom is engineered to embed 10-element lenses for 3X Optical Zoom while still keep the device as thin as 11.95mm. It’s the world’s thinnest 3X optical smartphone offering up to 12X zoom-in effect.”
The Asus Zenfone Zoom is running on ASUS ZenUI with Android 5.0 Lollipop OS at the back. It has up to 128 GB internal storage (depend on country), and ASUS also offers 5GB (lifetime) web-storage to purchase this smartphone.
The Zenfone Zoom sports a 5.5-inch Full HD display with 1920 x 1080 pixels of resolution and 403ppi. The screen is featured with IPS, 400 nits brightness, and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It houses a 5MP front camera with f/2.0-aperture, wide-angle (88-degree) lens with Pano Selfie. It also houses a 13 MP rear camera with f/2.7- to 4.8-aperture, 10-element lenses with 3X optical zoom, optical image stabilization (OIS), laser auto-focus, and dual-color Real Tone flash.
The Asus Zenfone Zoom features 4G LTE connectivity and supports FDD LTE: 1/2/3/4/5/7/8/9/17/18/19/20/28/29 and TDD LTE: 38/39/40/41(Network support varies by country) network bands. It can download a file with up to 150M bps speed at its peak of the network, and upload is also possible up to 50 Mbps. A 3000mAh lithium-polymer battery backs it.
Zenfone Zoom supports a set of sensors like accelerometer, proximity, ambient-light, gyroscopic, digital compass, and Hall-effect. Connectivity options include GPS / A-GPS / GLONASS, WiFi 802.11ac, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 4.0, 3.5mm audio jack , micro USB (support OTG) and dual micro SIM.
The Asus Zenfone Zoom measures 158.9 x 78.84 x 11.95 mm, and its weight is 185 gms. It will be available in Meteorite black /Glacier white variant colors.
