Asus has launched the Zenfone 2 (ZE551ML) smartphone in the US and Canada. It comes in Black, Silver, Red, and Gold color options and is priced at US$ 199 for the 2GB RAM model and Z23560 SoC, while the top-end version with 4GB RAM and Z3580 SoC costs US$ 299. It will be available in unlocked mode via Amazon.com, Newegg, Groupon, and B&H photo.
The Asus Zenfone 2 comes with 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) display with Corning gorilla glass 3 protection, a 13-megapixel rear PixelMaster camera with Real Tone flash, and 5-megapixel front-facing camera. It runs Android 5.0 (Lollipop) OS.
The Zenfone 2 will be available in two variants in the U.S., one with a 1.8GHz quad-core Intel Atom Z3560 processor, 2GB RAM, and 16GB storage, while the other carries a 2.3GHz quad-core Intel Atom Z3580 processor with 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage.
Other specs include PowerVR G6430 GPU, Dual SIM, 4G LTE / 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. It also has a 3000mAh battery.
