The Taiwanese company confirmed a new 64GB storage variant of the Asus ZenFone 2 (ZE551ML). In an event in its homeland, Asus revealed the new ZenFone 2 series pricing alongside unveiling new variants of the handset.
The Asus ZenFone 2 ZE551ML with 4GB of RAM and 64GB inbuilt storage will be available with a tag price of TWD 9,990 (Roughly Rs. 19,900). It will be available in Taiwan starting March 23 alongside the Asus ZenFone 2 ZE551ML (4GB RAM and 32GB ROM), which is TWD 8,990 (Roughly Rs 18,000).
The Asus ZenFone 2 ZE551ML (2GB RAM) is priced at TWD 6,990 (Roughly Rs 13,900); Asus ZenFone 2 ZE550ML at TWD 5,990 (Roughly Rs 11,900), and Asus ZenFone 2 ZE500CL is priced at TWD 4,990 (Roughly Rs 9,900).
According to WhatsOnTech, Asus Taiwan has started taking pre-orders for the ZenFone 2 ZE550ML and ZenFone 2 ZE500CL, which are expected to ship on March 25.
Apart from Taiwan, the Asus ZenFone 2 will be available in China, Hong Kong, Singapore, and France in March. Other countries, such as Italy and other Southeast Asian, including India, will have these smartphones in April. The Asus ZenFone 2 will also be released in Brazil but in June.
The Asus ZenFone 2 ZE551ML will be available in three variants – 2GB LPDDR3 RAM with 32GB ROM, 4GB LPDDR3 RAM with 32GB ROM, and 4GB LPDDR3 RAM with 64GB ROM. All these support expandable storage via microSD card (up to 64GB).
All variants of the Asus ZenFone 2 smartphone run the company’s new ZenUI, based on Google’s Android 5.0 Lollipop OS. Last week in Taiwan, Asus had also launched new accessories named ZenFlash and LolliFlash.
