Asus has launched the PadFone mini (PF400CG) in India, will be exclusively available through eCommerce online website Flipkart. It can be used as both smartphone and tablet. Just remove from docking station to use it as phone, and fix it will Padfone station to work as slate.

Asus PadFone mini sports a 4-inch (800 x 480 pixels) smartphone that docks into a 7-inch (1280 x 800 pixels) Padfone station, which is powered by 1.6 GHz dual-core (Intel Atom Z2560) processor and runs on Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean), which is further upgradable to Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS, according to the company.

The PadFone mini houses an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and also a 2-megapixel front-facing camera onboard. It supports dual SIM, and features DC-HSPA+ network, means it can download a file with up to 42Mbps and upload speed limit is 5.76Mbps. The device is further coupled with PowerVR SGX 544MP2 GPU and 1GB of RAM.

The Asus PadFone mini is equipped with 8GB of internal storage which is further expandable using micro SD card slot (supports up to 64GB). The smartphone measures 124.42 x 61.44 x 11.2 mm and weighs 116gms, while the docking station dimensions is 199.85 x 119.43 x 13.91 mm and weight is 260gms.

Connectivity options included in Asus PadFone mini are 3G, DC-HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, WiFi Direct, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, aGPS and GLONASS. The phone packs a 1170 mAh battery, while PadFone station comes with 2100 mAh battery.

Recently, Asus PadFone X Mini gone on sell in USA with a price $199.99 through AT&T carrier without annual contract. It is powered by the Intel Atom processor and Intel XMM 7160 LTE modem. Smartphone display is of 4.5-inch, while docking station size is 7-inch.
