Asus Fonepad 8 (FE380CG-1A071A) is currently available online in India with a price of Rs. 13,999. However, earlier launched with Jelly Bean Fonepad (K004 ME371MG) tablet is still listed in Flipkart with a price of Rs 12,000.
The new slate, Fonepad 8, features an 8-inch WXGA IPS (1280 x 800 pixels) touchscreen display with LED Backlight and is powered by a 1.33 GHz Intel Atom Z3530 Quad-Core processor, alongside PowerVR G6430 GPU and 2GB of RAM.
The Fonepad 8 runs Android 4.4 KitKat with ZenUI on the top and supports dual SIM (WCDMA+GSM) with dual standby. It also comes with 16GB of internal storage that is further expandable with up to 64GB of microSD card.
The handset houses a 5-megapixel auto-focus rear camera and boasts a 2-megapixel front-facing camera for HD video calling. A 3,950mAh Li-polymer battery backs it. Connectivity options include Fonepad 8, FM Radio, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, micro-USB, mobile hotspot, GPS, A-GPS, and GLONASS.
The Fonepad 8 measures 214 x 120 x 8.9 mm with 328 grams weight. It supports a set of sensors: accelerometer, proximity, ambient light, compass, and hall sensors.
