Android 5.1.1 Lollipop firmware Available for Galaxy Grand Prime Value Edition

Samsung is rolling out an Android update for the Galaxy Grand Prime Value Edition that brings the OS version to 5.1.1. The smartphone, which in fact hasn’t yet been announced officially, was last spotted in a benchmark running Android 5.0.

The firmware versions labeled G531FXXU1AOF7 and G531MUBU1AOFB, respectively. The Firmware packs Samsung’s latest Lollipop 5.1.1 build, new TouchWiz UI with Material Design, New notifications panel, New lock screen, security enhancements, stability improvements, performance improvements, and various bug fixes.

The files weigh in at around 730 MB and come with the usual set of security and stability improvements.

The Original Galaxy Grand Prime (SM-G530) is expected to get the same update any time now. Presently the handset was stuck on 4.4 Kitkat. This step of Samsung hurt Galaxy Grand Prime users that now they can’t experience lollipop 5.0 for their handset.

Further, the Grand Prime Value Edition is equipped with 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of internal memory is also expandable via an external MicroSD card. The device will offer 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/A-GPS, and NFC in terms of connectivity. The camera department includes an 8MP rear shooter and a 5MP front snapper for selfies. A 2,600mAh battery fuels the device.
